Professor Lester Brown\, Founder and President of the Earth Policy Institute\, will speak to the All Party Parliamentary Climate Change Group on the themes of his latest work\: ‘Plan B 3.0\: Mobilizing to Save Civilization.’ Plan B 3.0 focuses on solutions for stabilizing the climate\, stabilizing the population\, eradicating poverty and restoring the world’s damaged ecosystems. Professor Brown has been named as one of the worlds’ most influential thinkers.
This conference is taking place at the Birmingham and Midland Institute on April 3rd and is open to anyone with an interest in the development of our understanding of climate change\, including researchers\, teachers\, students and campaigners.
The conference will explore\:
How this potentially catastrophic situation has arisen
How societies\, polities and cultures have and can sustain themselves in adverse conditions
Learning from the experiences of past and current societies which have coped with severe climate or environmental change

PADDY'S DAY OF ACTION AGAINST SHELL
This year´s St Patrick´s day\, Monday 17th March\, has been called as an
International day of action against shell\, in solidarity with the people
of Rossport\, County Mayo\, Ireland.
Since 2000 the small rural community of Rossport have been engaged in an
epic battle trying to prevent Shell\, Statoil\, and Marathon from building a
potentially devastating toxic onshore gas refinery and high pressure
pipeline in their remote and environmentally sensitive region.
People from all over Ireland are set to join forces and show their united
