E-On is the company behind the new drive to coal and is a classic corporate
polluter - its coal and gas plants specialist in pumping out CO2 into the
atmosphere. It is the world’s 53rd largest company, with assets worth a
staggering $168 billion and in 2006 it made a cool $6.4 billion in profit.
E-on have recently one planning permission from Medway council for a new
coal fired power station at Kingsnorth and the application is now sitting on
Gordon Brown’s desk awaiting his approval. We say no to a new coal power
station at Kingsnorth! Yes to massive investment in renewable energy!
Revolution, the LSE Green Party, and whoever else we can get involved, are
planning an action at E-On's London offices on Friday 25th January at 3pm.
To prepare this action an we are organising a planning meeting at
4pm Friday 11th January, room D6, Clement House, London School of Economics,
Aldwych, Strand (Holborn Tube).
This is an all London organising meeting to plan the campaign. It is
organised by the LSE Green Party and Revolution and is open to everyone, so
come along if you want to get involved. We will be brainstorming ideas for
the action and planning how to make it as big as possible.
