How Do You Respond To An Invisible Threat ?
Dear Editor,
The success of the international Kyoto talks in Montreal
this week are critical to the surivival of human civilisation
and life on a habitable planet.
Most people in the industrialised world will spend the next
few weeks concerned with travel, visits, presents, food.
How can they respond to the invisible threat of Climate Change ?
How can they believe that Climate Change is being caused by
the innocent ordinary actions of their daily lives ? What are
the Governments doing to show that Climate Change is not just
future science but present danger ?
Who is giving Climate Change the priority it deserves ?
Why is everybody concentrating on the Stock Market, their cars,
their Pension Funds, their entertainment, their house ?
Climate Change and our response to the management of Energy
and Environment should be our top priority, not just in a
political form of words, in stodgy policy papers, in emotional
media debates.
There is a mass hypnosis and general apathy of people in the
United Kingdom, happy with their bread and circus TV, or stressed
with their debts and addictions and bad service. It's really
time to get Changed by the Climate.
Come on the Climate March on Saturday December 3rd, in London,
Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, Montreal, and all around the world.
Get out of your armchair and invest a little effort in
protecting the Earth for your children !
It's actually important that we make this a priority, each and
every one of us, not just the politicians and campaigners.
