This is a preliminary reaction to this website and it might change when I have used it more but right now I feel the site is not easy and intuitive to use. There are too many puzzling features and too little introduction or explanation. I suspect that this is because the developers of the site know how it works and lose sight of how it will appear to new users. |

Long-term stability
A worry related to my previous comment about user-friendliness is about the long-term stability of this website. The URL, which is currently http://fleming.flump.net/~zamama/civicspace/..., suggests that the site may be run by a student or other member of some institution and that it will disappear when that person moves on. Although I gather that a dedicated domain name is being set up, there is nothing about who is running the system and whether they are likely to be still in business next year.
If the site does collapse, then there will be a considerable problem of transfering information to another website with better long-term prospects.
help page needed

I think you are right. We could add a link on the main page to a help page
specifically for newcomers or whatever. Would that work?
