Options for Outreach? + Lets be having a podcast!

Hello all, i have one sugestion and then a load of questions.

Suggestion: Everyone starts posting about using this forum on all the fora they are active on. And then anyone else who finds the same forum posts a reply about how usefull the central CCC-Forum is and how it has people trying to do things, not just talking, like many other environmental fora. This is relatively quick and absoloutely free...and every hyperlink is good for google ranking.

Question:
1. Anyone got any other good ideas for free publicity? Letters to the papers are effective, and as we have already heard have a pretty good rate of getting published.
2. Anyone else think that this site should make more use of media for promotion (i.e the what are we about section as an mp3 file not a chunk of text) and co-operation (i.e meetings on mp3s rather than minutes)? What about a CCC-Podcast, i just thought about this when typing the last questions and so-far it sounds like genius! its easy to get a few thousand listeners on a podcast, perticularly an environemtnal one and it is great for cohesiveness of the groups and organisation of future events.

OK screw the rest of the questions...how about a podcast then!

some thoughts:
1. i don't know much about podcasting, but isn't this the sort of thing we might want to do if there is a 'conference', as looks plausible? a standard ccc london meeting might put the rest of the country to sleep...
2. advertising - this is really going to be decided by money more than anything i'd guess, so if you think we should do more get fundraising!
3. press - don't be disheartened by british press of D3, there is a latent mood of 'protest? yawn...' in much of the establishment, however the truth, as is obvious when compared to international coverage, is that we were just unlucky this time with best's funeral.
so...
4. although we got 10,000 there is still plenty of word-of-mouth room for significant growth. everybody who was there knows people who were 'waverers', interested but didn't show up. get those people, make sure you see them soon and impress on them what we acheived.
5. we need to be raising our profile NOW whilst the demo is still recent and montreal is putting the issue in the news. we may not have a fixed demo planned yet, but those who have got the energy and enthusiasm would do really well to get out there with stalls etc selling badges, giving out 'big ask' cards maybe, putting out the 'climate campaigner' etc just to let as many as possible peolple see our name and logo. if people stop to talk, and some will, tell about D3, and get them to SIGN UP!
6. could we start collecting names for a petition of sorts, or something like that?
7. for next time i would really like a downloadable demo invite, like a flier with a space to address it specifically, to be able to send as a reminder to all the interested people i know. personal contact is exremely powerful in motivating people, as is something tangible to prompt them. e-messages just don't sit there catching one's eye in the same way.
