How to post

Registration

You must register an email address with this site before you can post content. You can do this by clicking on create new account on the left hand side. Your ID can be two words e.g. John Smith. When you register, you will receive an email that provides the login instructions. You may have to wait a couple of minutes for your email to arrive.

If you have joined CCC, please use the same email address if possible.

Troubleshooting - I haven't received my password

This sometimes happens. The usual reasons are that:

-Our email with your password is stuck in your spam box. Have you looked for it there?

-You have mistyped your email address. The best thing to do is to do is start again with a new or correct email address.

Don't fight it. Contact details for support by phone or email are here.

Posting new content

You can post different type of content to this web site. Click on create content on the right hand side to see the current list.

post a story

Good for original articles, personal commentary, campaign news, minutes and reports of meetings, news stories and links to news stories.

post a new forum thread

Available only to regular contributors. Should only be started to discuss issues which are closely connected to the campaign such as outreach or are likely to attract a lot of comment. Please check that no existing threads exist (use the search box).

Posting a comment

Make sure you click on the correct reply link. To prevent comments from bunching over on the right hand side of the page, it's best to click on the reply link underneath the original posting. Also, if you reply to someone else's comment and that person deletes their own comment, your comment will be deleted as well!

Anonymous comments are moderated. This is to prevent spammers from posting comments.

Modifying/editing and deleting existing content

Anyone can register with the site and create postings and edit them. Regular contributors are able to edit content written by others or perform admin functions. Just email me (see below) once you have registered if you need to perform these extra roles. The two existing roles are currently 'content editor' for rearranging newsgroups, pages etc and 'image editor' for reorganising the image library.

Getting hold of the user guide

Try the The Drupal online manual.

This is an out of the box installation of Drupal, an open source content management system. Drupal is used by many non commercial organisations including IndyMedia. Here is the change log.

Content Moderation

Postings that directly relate to campaign activities are promoted to the front page of the portal. Regular contributors are able to promote and demote posts.

Postings that receive criticism from regular contributors will be be removed.

Notifications

You can receive new content by email (updated April 2008).

To view or update your subscriptions go to your subscription management page.

You might automatically receive an notification on any updated thread to which you have contributed. You can explicitly subscribe to comments on a post by clicking on subscribe below the post.
